Synopsis
Special Mage Eijiro Tokuda never wanted to be a mentor. In fact, he didn’t even want to be alive. But when a desperate fourteen-year-old interrupts his most recent attempt to skip out on mortality, he ends up both alive and a mentor. The worst of both worlds.
Now stuffed into the role of mentor and father figure for a girl that adores him, Eijiro must help his apprentice to master her abilities without succumbing to his own inner demons. Which won’t be easy to do–especially when the ghosts of his past catch up to him, threatening to steal his apprentice’s love for him and his second chance at life.

As of right now, this is the next book I am planning to publish. With Shadowed By Moonlight officially launching in 2023, this is the book I hope to publish in 2024. And then, fair warning to all–this is the uncut, unpolished version of Cut From A Tattered Cloth. Aside from a few self-edits, this hasn’t been revised so it might read a little rough. But, I’m always looking for ways to reward subscribers, and thought this might be a fun freebie to give you guys.
If you’re not sure whether or not you want to follow along with this story, then feel free to check out the sample chapters listed below. This one is pretty different from Shadowed By Moonlight, but it’s something I’m super passionate about. It deals with darker topics like alcoholism and suicidality, and focuses on themes like redemption, forgiveness, and learning to overcome personal flaws. In that sense, I think it’ll resonate with older readers of Shadowed By Moonlight, and hope you guys enjoy it.
